GLOBAL MESSAGING SOLUTIONS, INC. (GMSI) SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH COREL CORPORATION

GMSI is chosen to test Corel’s e-Too Enhanced WebMail Technology

OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS (January 16, 2001)-- Global Messaging Solutions, Inc. (GMSI) today announced that an agreement has been signed with Corel Corporation, a leading software development company based in Ontario, Canada.  The agreement calls for GMSI to pilot test Corel’s revolutionary e-Too WebMail technology. e-Too technology will greatly enhance the features and capabilities of WebMail messaging by integrating rich-media and dynamic content.

WebMail is the industry term for eMail that is accessed through an Internet website.  The advantage of WebMail is its accessibility to the user anywhere an Internet connection can be obtained.  Desktop eMail clients like Outlook or Eudora require a user to utilize a specific computer or have specific settings programmed to access eMail.

To date, WebMail offers a very plain looking front with minimal functionality.  eMail users, though, have been accustomed to writing messages with writing and design tools at their disposal.  As they moved to the more accessible WebMail, they lost the features they normally used.  Corel’s new e-Too WebMail brings all these features back to users—and more!  Now users can get as creative as they want;  they can express themselves with rich-text formatting and graphical emoticons, create quick doodles or signatures, drop in sticky notes and even insert maps, stock quotes and weather forecasts directly into the WebMail messages.

“Corel’s e-Too technology will give us the advanced messaging capabilities our customers demand,” said William J. Brunkhardt, Chief Executive Officer of GMSI. “It is this commitment to innovation that clearly sets GMSI apart from its competitors.”

GMSI will complete its first phase of e-Too technology integration by February 1st, 2001.  This new WebMail technology will allow GMSI to offer a WebMail service that is remarkably more user-friendly and feature-rich than most competing messaging services.
