Firm Begins Offering eMail Over Wireless Devices
OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS
(July 25, 2000)-- Global Messaging Solutions, Inc. (GMSI), today
announced the availability of its carrier-scale, mission
critical messaging system to WAP (Wireless Application Protocol)
devices. Users of GMSI’s powerful
eMail system now will be
able to access their messages from any WAP-enabled mobile phone.
The Strategis Group estimates there
will be more than 530 million wireless subscribers by the year
2001, and the number of subscribers should break the one billion
mark by 2004. Many of those wireless devices will be WAP-enabled,
making it possible for messages and other data to be transferred
and read by individuals on the move.
Logica
predicts that within three years the average mobile phone user
will receive three short text messages daily.
“Wireless Internet and eMail access
is on everyone’s mind,” said William J. Brunkhardt, Chief
Executive Officer of GMSI. “GMSI is committed to providing its
