GMSI signs agreement with Winstar to receive wireless
broadband Internet connectivity via microwave radio
OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS
(November 22, 2000)-- Global Messaging Solutions, Inc. (GMSI)
today announced that an agreement has been signed with Winstar,
a wireless broadband network provider. The agreement calls for
Winstar to provide GMSI with high-speed, redundant Internet
connectivity to GMSI’s Network Operations Center (NOC) in Kansas
City.
Winstar will be the 3rd broadband provider added to
GMSI’s network infrastructure. AT&T and Global Crossing circuits
are currently being used. Winstar will provide a high-speed
circuit delivered through the use of their 38GHz microwave radio
atop GMSI’s headquarters.
“Winstar will give us added performance and reliability that our
customers demand,” said William J. Brunkhardt, Chief Executive
Officer of GMSI. By using Winstar’s microwave radio technology,
GMSI will have added redundancy in case of a fiber cut outside
of our facility. Should a fiber cut occur, all of GMSI’s network
traffic will be automatically re-routed through Winstar’s
network. This clearly demonstrates the commitment to unequaled
service to our customers.”
Winstar and GMSI will complete the network integration within
the next 30 days.
